A simple life worth sharing
At The Lost Homestead, we’re Scott and Janelle — two souls who chose a slower, wilder way of life. Together, we’ve traded the noise for nature, the rush for rhythm, and convenience for connection — to land, to craft, to each other.Scott is a self-sufficiency farmer with dirt under his nails and fire in his heart. He’s the muscle and the heartbeat of the farm — most at home on a tractor or working with his hands. Passionate about learning alongside others, he brings a deep knowledge of farming, fencing, and butchery, and the ability to turn a bare patch of earth into something that feeds both body and soul.Janelle is a wildlife rehabilitator, creative maker, and hands-on builder with a deep respect for nature and practical living. She brings structure to the chaos, beauty to the basics, and vision to the land we're shaping. One day soon, she hopes to develop her own apothecary range to support the health and wellbeing of the people and creatures she loves.Together, we’re building The Lost Homestead — a life rooted in simplicity, sustainability, and soul. This is more than a farm; it’s a return. A return to honest living, shared learning, and the joy of creating something with your own two hands. A place where the forgotten arts of self-sufficiency are rediscovered, where simplicity is celebrated, and where community is built not through crowds, but through shared values and meaningful work. We’re passionate about bringing lost skills and stories back into everyday life — and here, we share that journey: the wins, the lessons, and the quiet, everyday magic. Through YouTube, handmade goods, and muddy boots, we invite you to slow down, get your hands dirty, and remember that sometimes, getting lost is how you find what matters most.
